About

We are a friendly United Methodist Church in the Fan District of Richmond, Virginia.  This blog reflects our experience and faith journey.  We invite you to read and comment, but better still, to join us on a Sunday morning at 11:00a.m.  Strangers are just friends we haven’t met yet.  Don’t be a stranger to us – be our friend.

Great Music – Greater Message – Greatest Cake – READ ON!
The music this morning, February 1, was quite extraodinary!!
Jeff Prillaman, guest soloist, a well traveled tenor with an impressive resume, sang “A Simple Song”, from Leonard Berstein’s Requiem Mass. How ironic that in August 1978, a short THIRTY years ago, another tenor, Stephen Rosser, as guest soloist, sang that same piece. August then being the traditional choir vacation month. Stephen was about to grace New York with his presence and his talent for nearly 30 years. Boulevard was blessed that Jeff could share his presence and his talent with us this morning. For years Boulevard was concidered to have an outstanding music program.
I have feared that those days were gone forever. Now I see hope that quality music, of all types, can be found and presented in our Sunday,11:00 a.m. service.
Thank You, Pamela McClain, Director of Music, for bringing Boulevard your music.
For those of you out there who “stumbled” across this website , you should have been here. Not only for the music, but to hear Doroth’s Children’s Time and Sermon, “Stumbling On – Watch What You Eat.” You also missed out on a fabulous cake and coffee after service brought by one of our newest famliles, who wanted to thank Boulevard for making them feel at home.”
